Title: Do Not Open: An Encyclopedia of the World’s Best Kept Secrets
Author: John Farndon
Hi guys! Kortney here to fascinate you with some more wonders of the world.
Creeepyyy: Haunted houses have always interested me. I love the thrill of being scared and this book sure tells of some great places. Did you know the world’s most scary places are ancient buildings? For example, the Tower of London, England. With countless people that have been beheaded there, it is said to be haunted by headless ghosts. Too bad it’s not just nearly-headless Nick from Hogwarts!
Did You Know?: Most people’s lucky numbers have meaning? One of my lucky numbers is 7. I found it so interesting that in Irish folklore a 7th son of a 7th son is believed to have magical powers. Of course it has other meanings too but the first makes the most sense for me. After all, I do love my witches and wizards.
WOW: Two presidents, two assassinations, and one weird story! Somehow, in some crazy way… Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy’s assassinations are oddly related. Both presidents were succeeded by a Vice President Johnson and both wives were present when shot. Lincoln and Kennedy’s assassins both had a 3-word, 15-letter name and were assassinated themselves before trial. Lincoln was elected to congress in 1846 and president in 1860. Kennedy was elected to congress in 1946 and president in 1960. To top it off, they were both shot on Fridays. Coincidence or some crazy kind of conspiracy…you decide.
Until the next post,
